BASIC FIRST AID - Level 1
The objectives :
- Understand the Chain of Survival concept.
Ensure immediate and appropriate scene safety and protection.
- Safely remove a victim from an imminent, life-threatening, and uncontrollable danger using various techniques: ankle drag, wrist drag, underarm drag, clothing drag, etc.
Communicate an effective emergency alert to emergency medical services.
- Provide immediate care for a choking victim: back blows and abdominal thrusts for adults, and chest compressions for infants.
Perform essential first aid actions for victims experiencing severe bleeding (direct manual pressure or pressure dressing), vomiting blood, or nosebleeds.
Maintain a clear airway in an unconscious, breathing person by placing them in the Recovery Position while awaiting emergency teams.
- Respond appropriately to a person showing signs of medical distress (e.g., chest pain, hypoglycemia, respiratory difficulty, sensory or motor disorders).
Provide first aid measures for wounds or burns based on their severity.
- Deliver proper care to a person having bone or joint trauma (e.g., suspected fracture, sprain).
- Assess an unresponsive individual and recognize cardiac arrest (CA).
- Perform high-quality Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), including effective chest compressions and rescue breaths.
- Perform chest compressions and insufflations: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).Use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) safely and confidently.
